Sometimes when evaluating a piece of land, we get too focused on the price we’re paying. I like to get a great deal as much as the next guy, but I’m also interested in the story behind that piece of property.
Whom originally owned it? What was the intended use? How am I going to change that story for my purposes? Am I going to improve the property by planting crops, raising livestock, or using it for recreational purposes or building a home? The old cliché of location location location still rings true with real estate of course, but let’s not forget that every piece of property is unique and you might be surprised and delighted by the story behind it.
So what is your story? What fascinates you about buying rural land? Please leave me a comment below.
